Nutrition Tracking With Your Cell

Evidence-Based Development of a Mobile Telephone Food Record

Most of us have cell phone and most have or are leaning towards a cell with internet access. Using a cell is a great way to be able to keep track of your nutrition intake because you have it with you all the time. I did a quick google search and there are a lot of nutrition tracking apps out there. Online training software, such as training peaks, even allow you up upload the information to your workout log. A great way to keep eveything in one place for you to track, your coach/trainer or nutritionist to look at.

If you’re thinking of making nutrition tracking your new year’s resolution what better way than with your web access phone.

Hot Dog

Those nitrates, used in preserving food, aren’t all that bad for you after all. Even those in your drinking water. Did you know that your veggies, some more than others, are high in nitrates/nitrites. Ever heard of nitroglycerin used for angina? Well, this is one reason why veggees are good for the heart. Nitrates. Pass me a hot dog with some beetroot on the side, please.

Moderate Amounts Of Protein Per Meal Found Best For Building Muscle

Interesting article.  Basically saying to eat no more than 30 grams of protein, 4 oz, a day. The rest isn’t used. Also, consume the majority during  breakfast to use during the day. I’ve been a firm believer of this for years, on a personal basis. Breakfast = the most important meal of the day.

Running Faster On High-Grade Oil: Mouse Study

The research, presented on 29th June 2009 at the Society for Experimental Biology Annual Meeting, has shown that mice fed for two weeks on a diet high in sunflower oil, which contains n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, ran on average 0.19m/s faster than mice fed a diet rich in linseed oil, which is high in n-3 fatty acids

Just when you think we possibly can not break that last world record, in a speed sport, there’s new research that says we have the capability. I wonder how fast we can go?
